You won’t be on the internet very long before you are told that you must Build Your List. There are many ways of doing this, and I want to tell you about one that I am using. It is called:

Earth Friendly Biz

It is the brainchild of Janet Legere who I have known of for some time, but who I got to know as one of the trainers at GVO. Her slot is at 11.00 a.m. on Thursdays. But she also has training sessions on Monday for Earth Friendly Biz and Saturday for this and other programs. She is joined by her husband Don on these. A report on it will be done in a later post.

I met both of them at a conference held in Las Vegas in March of this year which I learned about from GVO. Her message always is Go And Do It. She and all the other trainers say that training is useless unless the person receiving it puts it into practice.

But what about Earth Friendly Biz. It is a 3 step program. You join it as a Free Member but you can upgrade at any time. Then you are invited to join 3 programs which provides you with the tools you need to make it work. There are other programs but you are told to get first 3 up and running before joining them.

As mentioned above training is given on it on Mondays. But all of them have been recorded and can be accessed via her blog.

If you are interest in joining go to: Earth Friendly Biz.

I look forward to welcoming you.

If you require any help Skype me at: jeanne0738.

TRAFFIC EXCHANGES ARE PROGRAMS WHERE YOU SURF FOR CREDITS IN EXCHANGE FOR ADVERTISING. THE MORE YOU SURF, THE MORE ADVERTISING CREDITS YOU ACCUMULATE.

The above sums up why people use them, i.e. they want the credits surfing brings them so that their site is shown to more people. But surfing is not the only way to get credits, you can also purchase them. Most Traffic Exchanges offer you credits at a reduced (usually half) price. But most people use them wrongly. Ask yourself if you would click on an affiliate link while surfing to get yourself credits. I think the answer would be NO!

Another drawback to using Traffic Exchanges to advertise an affiliate link is that those who are surfing can see and be interested and go straight to the site, bypassing your link. The best way to advertise on Traffic Exchanges is by using Squeeze/Lead Capture Pages.

Traffic Exchanges are used by both those who are just starting out and also those who have been in Internet Marketing for some time. And while doing so some come across an advert that offers them what they were looking for and also one that caught their eye. And if all they had to do was give their name and email address they might do so as it only takes 10 to 15 seconds and can be done before clicking on the next one.

There are 2 different kinds of Traffic Exchanges, as in many advertising Programs…Free to join and Pro (paid) TE’s. The fact that you are offered credits was mentioned above and a fixed amount of credits are always part of any upgrade, but it also includes other things as well such as a reduced time that you have to watch other peoples sites. Among the other things offered are books on what to do and what not to do when using them.

Individual TE’s will be looked at in later posts.

You were told in the previous post that the owner of Kiosk Hosting Services and Hot Conference had recently branched out into other internet connected services. As the owners of Hot Conference they used this to talk to those who used their services when they had problems, but as part of the new service they now, like others (see AJFLeads), are providing Training on how to run an internet business generally and how each part of their new service operates.

One of the first things we were told to do was see what was provided, which is given in a list on the left of the page and then start at the top and master each one before moving on to the next one. We were told that a video had been done by the owner Joel Therien, showing how each of them worked.

The first one is an Autoresponder, followed by Prospecting. Here we are provided with Squeeze Pages. Banners are also provided and other tools to aid you in your advertising of the site. More will be said on these and the other services in a later post.

But these are of no use to you if you don’t have a website, or rather a blog, to put them on. And also somewhere to host them. This was what they supplied initially and is the main reason people join them.

One of the nicest, if not the nicest, is the training given by various internet marketers, who are not part of GVO but like the system and want others to do the same. More about this in another post.

Once you have your website up, with a form to capture your visistor’s name and email address you need places to advertise it. One of the earliest forms of advertising and still quite popular and successful, if you use them correctly, is Traffic Exchange. They will be reviewed in the next post.

The first thing to be established is that whatever it is that you want to interest people in you have to tell them about it which means that you need advertising. Some methods of advertising that were popular and yielded results no longer do so and have disappeared from the scene.

But some have remained such as Safelists, Traffic Exchanges, Classified Ads. You will find out about these and many more ways of advertising in later posts. You will be told how they operate, the best way to use them and equally important, what not to do.

When someone decides to become an Internet Marketer they usually look around to see who they can join and become an affiliate rather than, at least initially, produce their own products.

People are still doing this, but lately their has been a twist to this, which you will be told about in a later post. Initially affiliates sent those they had interested in purchasing the product straight to the owner of the site, but the drawback to doing this is that they are all but lost to you forever, at least as far as interesting them in other programs.

When people realised this they searched for a way to get their name and email address before sending them to the site they were an affiliate to and Squeeze/Lead Capture Pages were born.

Which brings us to another thing you need i.e. an autoresponder where the information they give is stored and from where messages are sent out to them on a regular basis.

Another thing you need is an email address, but here you really do have to be careful. The free ones such as Yahoo have a policy that they do not deliver messages from autoresponders and as you have to confirm that you want to join the mailing list of those who use them means you will not be able to do so.

At the moment GMail is the only one that does not have this policy, but that could change. The only safe way to ensure that you do receive all the emails you want is to use the email facility provided by hosting companies, which means that you have to have your own web site and:

A Hosting Company. This being the last thing you need to run a business. Some hosting companies are stand alone ones, that being all they provide, but others provide hosting among such services as autoresponders, a shopping cart, etc.

This blog is hosted by Kiosk, who, unlike many other hosting companies own their own servers, which others rent from them. Initially, this, with Hot Conference was all they owned, but lately they have branched out and are now providing much more, under the title of Global Virtual Opportunity (GVO). See Does Your Hosting Company?

Some computer protection programs are free, with others being free initially, but with opportunities to upgrade to get more protection. Others you have to pay for. Because you have to pay doesn’t make them any better than the free ones, particularly if they decide for you what you can receive.

As with everything else Word of Mouth is best, i.e. you ask someone whose advice you trust what they use. But if you are just starting out with internet marketing you might not know anyone you can ask. In that case you can ask where you bought your computer that is if you haven’t bought a new computer and have it installed on it.

But how do you get infected with viruses, etc? It is usually by clicking on a link in an email you have received. The best advice is not to click on a link in an email if you have not asked to receive it. Sooner or later you will get emails from friends, your bank, etc asking you to click on a link. But these people will not have sent them and if you do it you open yourself to scammers who can access your bank account, etc.

There are 2 categories of protection that you need when you are involved in internet marketing:

1. Protecting your computer from viruses, malware, etc and

2. Protecting yourself from scams.

But you also have to remember that the internet, like newspapers, magazines, TV, radio, etc is only a vehicle for you to use to do what you want to do, be it sending emails, finding out what you want to know, etc.

Another thing you have to remember is that any protection you put on your computer responds to triggers and doesn’t know the difference between a scam email and one you have asked to receive. When you are choosing a program ensure that it is not one that makes up your mind for you and refuses to let an email giving you details of a program you have bought be delivered.

This problem can also occur with email accounts such as Yahoo, which is why many internet marketers ask you not to use them as you will not receive the emails they send you. You are frequently advised to use Gmail because, at the moment, they allow everything to be delivered and ask you to block what you do not want to receive.

There is also the problem of spam. The only way to deal with this is to delete it. It is better not to ask to be removed because those sending it will realise they have found an used email address and send even more.

In the next post we will look at how to avoid scams.

Autoresponders, Video Conferencing, video making software and training on how to use it and all the other things included in the package? If they don’t you might like to check out GVO. This is where all the top internet marketers host their websites. They know that Joel Therien, the owner is a internet marketer him and knows what they need. They know that he will not shut them down if someone makes a spam complaint against them, as others have done.

Most of the big hosting companies charge you according to how many websites you host with them, i.e. the more you have the more you pay. But not GVO. And the same applies to the big autoreponder companies such as Aweber.

Equally important is the deliverability rate. If they don’t get delivered they cannot be read and GVO’s deliverability rate is 2nd to none. And it is also really easy to use.

The same applies to their Easy Video Producer which is included in the price and talking of price you can try it out for $1.00 for a 2 week period.

To see what else you get and try it out go to GVO.

But that all changed with the advent of Social Networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, etc. With these sites people can interact with each other, indeed that is why they exist and how they operate.

The early ones catered for a specific group of people, but then internet marketers realised how good they were for getting themselves and their business in front of a lot of people. But many approached them in the wrong way not getting to know those who had joined to make friends and when those that had joined for that purpose saw what was going on they didn’t like it. The outcome was that many people were banned.

This lead to others setting up sites for internet marketers, but suggested that they got to know other people who were using them and see how they could help.

More and more Social Networking sites are being launched and if you joined all of them you would be spending all your time visiting them. Jane Mark and Phil Basten, the owners of Target Ads Depot, Free Ad Depot Revolving Ads Depot and other advertising programs realised this and decided to do something about it.

What they did was launch their own Social Networking site Sokule, and put links to over 30 other Social Networking sites on it for people to join so that when they made a post on Sokule it automatically appeared on all the other sites those who subscribed to it had joined.

But this is not they have provided. It is free to join, but you can upgrade and get more benefits. To find out more go to Sokule.
