Do Traffic Exchanges Work?
TRAFFIC EXCHANGES ARE PROGRAMS WHERE YOU SURF FOR CREDITS IN EXCHANGE FOR ADVERTISING. THE MORE YOU SURF, THE MORE ADVERTISING CREDITS YOU ACCUMULATE.
The above sums up why people use them, i.e. they want the credits surfing brings them so that their site is shown to more people. But surfing is not the only way to get credits, you can also purchase them. Most Traffic Exchanges offer you credits at a reduced (usually half) price. But most people use them wrongly. Ask yourself if you would click on an affiliate link while surfing to get yourself credits. I think the answer would be NO!
Another drawback to using Traffic Exchanges to advertise an affiliate link is that those who are surfing can see and be interested and go straight to the site, bypassing your link. The best way to advertise on Traffic Exchanges is by using Squeeze/Lead Capture Pages.
Traffic Exchanges are used by both those who are just starting out and also those who have been in Internet Marketing for some time. And while doing so some come across an advert that offers them what they were looking for and also one that caught their eye. And if all they had to do was give their name and email address they might do so as it only takes 10 to 15 seconds and can be done before clicking on the next one.
There are 2 different kinds of Traffic Exchanges, as in many advertising Programs…Free to join and Pro (paid) TE’s. The fact that you are offered credits was mentioned above and a fixed amount of credits are always part of any upgrade, but it also includes other things as well such as a reduced time that you have to watch other peoples sites. Among the other things offered are books on what to do and what not to do when using them.
Individual TE’s will be looked at in later posts.
